    73 Speedometer Face

When I bought my 73 it had aftermarket electric speedo and tach installed. I'm going to be restoring them to original mechanical units but I have no originals to compare with. The replacement units from OER look good except for the openings for the turn signal and warning lights. These openings have a white edge where the white underlying material shows through. Is this how the originals looked?

The pointer on their repros is absolutely awful as well.

Dave, a little too dark in the garage tonight to get a pic, but I can confirm that there is no white edge on the turn signal area of my speedo or Tach. I’ll try to get a photo in the daylight tomorrow.

Dave, attached photos for your comparison. Sorry about the glare but I think they’ll help you compare to the reproduction faces. Both of my gauges are original and have not been out of the car for any reason. Clearly no white outline at either the directional, high beam or brake indicators. Note your redline on the tach will be different on your L48.

Thank you, John. I can touch up the white easily. It won't be perfect, but it'll be better. It's going to be nice to have the indicator and warning lights working again. I've been driving without them for a year now. So much for people's "upgrades"
