That's been a State Farm mandate for a long time.

Key is, not letting State Farm know you have your Classic Cars insured elsewhere.

I have my daily drivers insured with State Farm, and as long as the policies match for coverage, they don't care.
They've not complained for my umbrella coverage either.

I usually have to send them a copy of my NCM coverage after I renew it.

I really appreciate all who have made comments regarding the NCM/American Modern insurance. I will be curious to see what SF does regarding my umbrella policy. I moved our lake condo, boat, and wave runner insurance to Farm Bureau in a different state and didn't see any changes.

No penalty from SF on Umbrella, 5 cars with Hagerty. I saw a small savings with NCM Quote with mileage limits. The 2 claims I have had with Hagerty over the years couldn't have gone better.

With my wife's car, mums the word with Farmers. I too have the 6,000 mile policy, had one claim last year, easy. It was that low hanging thing called splitter, I'm on my second one and replacing it this year with #3 in prep for my 1st 97 in Ar. then on to Las Vegas looking for the Tom Wallace. Life is good.

I changed to NCM last August. There was a savings, but I also added collision coverage that I did not carry before. Collision also covers while the car is being transported to an event.

Do any of you who currently have your Corvette(s) covered by NCM/American Modern, does your regular insurance company like State Farm's umbrella policy still cover you/the Corvette with the Corvette being insured by NCM/American Modern? I see NCM/American Modern offers an umbrella policy also.

My '67 was covered by NCM (American Modern) and my two daily driver's are insured with USAA, as is my home. No conflict with USAA whatsoever.

I did have an issue with my Cincinnati umbrella when I initially switched 4 vehicles to American Modern (NCM). All I had to do to solve problem was to raise the American Modern policy limits to match my Cinci (daily drivers) limits and then all were then covered under my Cinci umbrella. American Modern limit adjustment caused a very small increase in my premium, total premiun still about half of what my Hagerty premium used to be........

If policy limits don't match, you're not covered, simple as that. Is it worth saving a couple of bucks and risking your life savings? Alot like not telling your insurance company you now have a 16 year old driving your cars....hoping they don't crash and you don't need to file a claim. Do it right, you'll be glad you did if someone files claim against you and you need that umbrella.

Actually that's correct. If there's an issue and you have to reach into your umbrella coverage, you'll find out that the claim will be denied.
I did reach out to NCM insurance. There quote is right in line with what I had been paying.

FYI. Normal underlying auto limits with State Farm are 250/500/100 before the Umbrella policy kicks in. Umbrella policies are intended to be excess liability, not primary. State Farm is rated A++(Superior). When all of the policies are with the same carrier, they know that they are in force. When they are with another carrier, underlying policies could lapse due to a multiple of reasons and primary liability would go to the umbrella.

Just finished signing up and paying my NCM/American Modern insurance policy for my three Corvettes. Both my daily drivers with SF and my NCM liability coverages match and my NCM comp and collision coverages deductibles with NCM are lower.

In case anyone it’s not clear to others like me about coverage while having your car trailered, Adam at the NCM insurance told me that “99.9% of our policies carry Collision Coverage” and therefore have insurance coverage while being trailered.
