NCM Classic Car Insurance

I've obtained quotes for my three Corvettes, 2 C2's and 1 C6 from the NCM/American Modern. I've compared policies from my current insurer (State Farm) and the savings is quite significant, even with a higher comprehensive deductible and higher vehicle agreed values with a 1,000-mile yearly limit. Are there other members here who have this insurance carrier and have seen this savings? Also, if the car is involved in an accident and it is not a total loss, are you able to choose your repair facility and type of replacement parts?

    Thanks,

    James West

    James,
I have NCM insurance on my 69 Corvette and 51 Chevrolet. The savings over others is substantial, in fact, I requested a quote from Haggerty (who I used to be insured with) and it was double NCM.

I switched my three from Hagerty a few years ago and saved big $. Unfortunately my 2013 was hit in a motel parking lot in route to Hampton last summer. I spoke to Adam at Convention and he suggested I start the claim immediately which I did. The process was very easy and professional. Yes, you chose who does the work and what is done. I could not be happier! Don H.

Premiums for collector car insurance are a lot less expensive and usually has better coverage. The caveat is there's usually an annual mileage limit and a requirement to own another daily driver.

NCM covers my two Corvettes. No claims yet (fingers crossed) but their service is good. Yes, you can choose your repair shop. Good question if they'll pay for NOS or only repro parts for a vintage car.

I switched from Hagerty to NCM (American Modern) several years ago. Rates were considerably lower. I have my policy where I can drive 6000 miles per year. Just last year I raised the Agreed Value to $100,000. Great folks to deal with...hope I never need their services. But, I have heard from many who have, unfortunately, had to file a claim with them and everyone of them said the process was butter. One was a '63 SWC hit pretty hard in the front. Replaced all the fiberglass and associated pieces with NOS.

We've had the NCM American Modern insurance on our '66 couple and BMW Z3 for a few years now. They are "agreed value" policies and the pricing is very good. Had a claim on the Z3 this summer and it was handled expertly and to our satisfaction. Highly recommend them.

NCM is definately the way to go. I've been with them since 2009ish. Cuurently insure both my vettes and my '23 challenger. Better prices for better coverage. I've used the roadside assistance a couple times, but have never had a claim. Roadside was easy and they send a flatbed. Like others have mentioned, I'm told the claim process is easy.

Make the switch today and don't think twice.

Great price and great price. Adam and his staff are very knowledgeable and give you a wonderful experience on the phone. Have had them for my 72 and 2011 for 8 years, with one claim on the 2011. Sent an estimate to them on a Monday and had a check on Wednesday, with no deductible.
Had a bad experience with Hagerty.

I just insured a 1988 prototype with them, today. Adam, and his crew, are top notch!

I added my 2 cars last year saved a great amount. Here's a new wrinkle I ran up against.
My 3 other vehicles are insured by State Farm. When renewal came up this month my umbrella policy went up 300% $1000 to $3000 per year!!@
No claims or pending issues of any kind.
Underwriter initially determined that all cars must be insured by State Farm to extend the umbrella policy.

This matter is being reviewed now, but it kind of sucks thinking I may need to go out and shop this at this time of year.

I'll follow up with the results of the review.

This sounds like a State Farm issue. I have an umbrella policy with NJ Manufactures Insurance and there has been no issue with have collector cars with NCM. The other benefit you get with NCM Insurance is; you support the Museum and the Corvette hobby.

That's been a State Farm mandate for a long time.

Key is, not letting State Farm know you have your Classic Cars insured elsewhere.

Another vote for NCM.They're the agent, the actual Ins Co is American Modern. Three cars insured with them, significant saving over Hagerty (almost half) who I was with for 25 yrs prior to switching to American Modern.
