    Right turn signal

I replaced the headlight harness and front turn signals on my 65 coupe after painting the car. My right front signal will not flash. I can hear the flasher ticking the rear right blinks. The parking light works. I tried a ne bulb and hooking the old light assembly up and still no blink. I took the telescopic steering assembly apart sprays all with contact cleaner. I pulle the harness off the firewall and still no blink. Any ideas ? Thanks. Bill

    Re: Right turn signal

Bill, have you checked for power at the Front turn lamp wire, I believe it’s a dark blue wire,( I don’t have a diagram for 65) ? The power to the dark blue wire is feed through the directional switch viva the flasher wire. You can go under dash at steering column and use a test light or volt meter to check at connector. That will tell you if there is a problem with switch.(which are known to be a problem).

Do you have 4 way flashers? Do they work? If not I'd suspect the turn signal switch...........

            Re: Right turn signal

If the 4 way flashers work then the wiring is proven to be ok, as the 4 ways use the same wiring to the lights as the turn signal circuitry. This leads me back to the turn signal switch in the steering column having a bad/broken contact........

Attached is the schematic by Jerry Fucillo/ Dave Zuberer showing the wiring for a 67. I assume the 65 is similiar.

Steve looks like I need the turn signal switch. I will take care of that over the winter. Going to clean up the engine compartment as well. Thanks all
