    1954 exhaust manifold heat riser

Will a 1954 dual exhaust manifold work if it is missing the heat riser valve? (The holes for the heat riser have also been welded up). I know 1954's are supposed to have a plate blocking heat from the exhaust manifold going to the intake, But is the heat riser still serve some purpose. Will the car run ok without the heat riser?

    It will run fine
