    66 E-brake cable clip question /problem

I have an early 66 roadster that has the early style clips for the cables, the clips i am using from gm are the service ones#516213 and they end up falling out on the frame bracket end of the cable , it seems the cable moves (new gm nos cable )from being so stiff. I dont believe this would happen with the later 66 micky mouse style clips . Anyone have an issue with this or a solution to the problem
    thanks Bob

    Bob,
I too have troubles with the d/s u-clip dropping off - p/s is fine. I noticed yesterday that I've lost my third clip. I don't have a solution yet and am hoping someone replies and helps us both.

Have you tried pinching the ends of the clip closer together, even after the clip is installed?

I can see how the Mickey Mouse clips would be tighter, but narrowing the ends of the U-clip might help.

In the '65 AIM, there is a note stating that once the clip is installed, to rotate it so it faces down. Is there a note in the '66 Aim stating the same? I've done this and haven't had any issues with the clips coming off.

I assume that means open end down, closed end up?
