Heater box Restore and How to use Aero Rivet Tool

Well it is winter time so time to tackle the heater box restore and boy do I have questions.

Trying to assess how much I want/need to tear it down. I cannot understand for the life of me why they did such a mix of screws and rivets. The end with the larger open end that sits against the firewall I can probably just soak in Evaporust to deal with all of that...being sure not to submerge actuators..but the narrower longer end I will probably want to take apart. Looks like I can do that by removing the metal plate. Thing is..that plate has X larger aluminum rivets, Y smaller rivets, and Z screws. I do have the seal kit from Doc Rebuild that includes aluminum rivets. So am thinking drill out all the rivets ideally with my bench drill press. But things I do no know are....where to get the smaller rivets? How to reinstall new rivets? I got the Aero Rivet II tool and have no idea how to use it. Came with zero instructions and there is NOTHING on the internet regarding how to use...no youtube....nada. It is essentially a C clamp style thing that needs to get on both ends of the rivet which is impossible for almost all the rivets on our cars. To summarize...

My overall breakdown approach sound ok?
Where do I get the smaller rivets?
How to I get new rivets installed?

    Thanks in advance!
    Keith

    Doc Rebuild...

1963-1967 Corvette Deluxe Heater Box Seal Kit USA includes semi tubular Rivets plus 9 die cut sponge rubber & foam seals A-2B-C-D-E-F-2G. Best of all, includes schematic instructions. Made in Bridgeport, CT USA. Do not order this kit if you have AC. None of the parts are the same.

Some of the rivets will not be installed with the tool. You will need four hands and a bench vise, a hammer and a rivet punch. One person holds the box, the other installs the rivet. Do NOT hit the rivets hard, you will break the fragile fiberglass.

Yes, Dr Geoff has the best kit for the heater box, and other unique parts I've acquired when I was restoring the cars.
