    C2 Battery

Has anyone purchased a Delco 24PG battery lately? I am located in Northern New Jersey. Looking for somewhere I may purchase one. It is for a 1963 Corvette.

Has anyone had experience with Battery Central Mall, Antique Auto Batteries? Wondering how they are performing.

    Thanks.

Ray, I kinda feel a Delco is a Delco. In November the Group 24 in my 63 died. I looked for one here, New Hampshire, but found they were no longer available. Instead a Group 34 was available. Essentially the same except the profile is 1 inch shorter, making it much easier to install. Also, I believe if you are having the car judged, there is no additional point deduction over a Group 24.

What part of Northern NJ, I'm from Paramus?

Thanks for a speedy reply, Harry. Are there any other identifiers for the Group 34 battery you purchased? The recommended Group 24 was a Group 24 PG. Are there letters or other identifiers after Group 34?

I live in Lake Hopatcong, NJ (Morris County). I have owned my 63 SWC, since December 1987. Took it out for a ride today. Temperature was in the low 40s.

Ray, I can't recall and I can't get to the car. It's now parked in storage for the winter.

        From the receipt.

Group 24 Delco Battery can be purchased at any Menards Store. Just had them for sale here
(Central Illinois) for $99. FYI>>Larry P.S. There are 336 Menards stores in the United States as of November 28, 2023.

After installing the group 34, I'd never try a group 24 again. The 34 went in like butter, the 24 is like an anchor.

                        Re: C2 Battery

Went I asked about the correct maintenance procedure for their repro batteries I was told not to use a trickle charger. There is an AGM glass mat battery inside. If you have a smart charger, they suggested starting the charge on 10 amps and charging for 90 minutes every other month for 1 hour. But if yours has lasted 10 years I'd say keep doing whatever you are doing...which is apparently nothing.

No battery disconnect switch shown in the photo. Are you using one?
