    Here's what I gathered from '63 - '67 AIM that I have...
    '63 - '64 used the #187119 split lock washer pictured below.
    Washers - Split 5/16 REG SPLIT WA PHOS.

    		Phosphate & Oil 187119
    The '65 - '67 shows #138485 toothed washer used, pictured below.
    Washers - Toothed 5/16 EXT TOOTH WA TY-A MECH ZC. Mechanical Zinc 138485

        Leif,

        Except AIMs for 65-67 big block show the use of 187119 split lock washer.

        But was that always done? Why? Since SB used an ext tooth washer. So the STL line worker went to one L. Washer bin for SB and a different L. Washer bin for BB?

                        Someone has to have the GM print!

                        That is from a GM service catalog and not what engineering used to get the parts manufactured.
