Re: Lone Star Texas Regional
That is a hope we should have, but going through all the electronic gadgets and lights and buzzers and functions in Ops takes quite a while.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Lone Star Texas Regional
In Ontario I think it was 15 or 20 minutes for Ops on my 2006, but I knew the car. There was another C6 that looked like 45 minutes on Ops. The Owner was not as familiar with his car.

Re: Lone Star Texas Regional
The one at the chapter meet last weekend was over an hour, since the judges and owner had never done it before and were not familiar with it all. And it is much more complex than a C2.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Lone Star Texas Regional
Will we need to add a separate judging section for electronics and AI? Or do we just admit that's no fun and never judge anything newer than 2019?Mark Edmondson

Yes, I think "Mechanical" should be renamed "Electronics", since very few mechanical items exist on these new cars. I also think ordering a CarFax for them would save a lot of time looking for replaced parts.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Lone Star Texas Regional
Over the years of driving this route you describe, things have gotten worse and worse as you near Dallas. The last time I took US 380 off 287 and went through Denton to get to the Dallas North Tollway and then into Frisco from the north. It is a bit longer, but fewer interchanges and traffic when I come through around 5-6PM.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Lone Star Texas Regional
Dave. Stay on 287 until it intersects with US 380. Go through Denton on 380 and after you get through Denton you should hang a right on Preston road. Take it to Gaylord Parkway and hang a right. The hotel will be about 3 lights down on your left. It is about 7 or 8 miles after you go through Denton until you hit Preston Rd. Good luck. Here is my phone number if you need help. (214) 693-3959.

Wouldn't it be much faster for him to turn right (southbound) on the Dallas North Tollway (before he gets to Preston Road)? Then, simply exit Gaylord Pkwy, turn left and he's at the hotel.Leif

Re: Lone Star Texas Regional
I go to this Regional every year (save for this year). The route Bob Demmel recommends is the best way to go in my opinion. I try to avoid the main portion of the Dallas Metroplex like the plague! Safe travels Dave Perry!- Top

Re: Lone Star Texas Regional
Thanks for the suggestions Mike. Other than Operations, I'd slow down the judging team on the C2s but I'm thinking of OJ'ing which will still pick up some points along with Dave's class.Keith MacRae
