I'm ready to install a new PS pump in my L36 with A/C. I'm wondering if it's necessary (easier) to install the "cradle" bracket on the pump before attaching the bracket to the engine. Currently I have the bracket loosely bolted in place.
One of the bolts that holds the pump to the bracket goes between the pump pulley and the bracket. The pulley is already on the pump. I removed the original pump so long ago I don't remember the sequence. I've attached a drawing that I hope will illustrate what I'm addressing. You'll see other brackets related to the pump and alternator that should be installable after the pump is actually in place. Not shown in this drawing is the idler wheel and related parts that further crowd the area and interfere with access.
Suggestions will be appreciated.
