    Re: Protectoplate Pics

I remember paying for 2, a 1966 and a 1967, excellent reproductions for the Western Regional judging in October, 2010, where they were judged.

      Thanks Tim and Dave,

I guess I forgot all of that...and now that I looked at the latest '67 TIMJG under glove box contents, I see that even the warranty booklet itself (paper) is not judged...and as you say, the PoP is irrelevant WRT the 5 originality points available for glove box contents.
      thx,

Ebay link to the machine which makes POP's ALONG with a BOX of the WAVY edged POP plates all for $999.
I have not taken POP's by themselves as legit documentation since the 1980's, because I knew of someone making fakes back then, with a machine much like this one.

After taking many Al Grenning's Seminar's IIRC All Chevrolet Zone Offices had this machine to remake
the Protectoplate for the dealers when the owner of the car changed hands. There where very many machines
like the above "floating" around for a long time when they became obsolete. . Larry

              James,

              Very cagey seller.
I've never seen a "Dog Tag" (as he describes it) look like that.
              thx,

There is MORE than one Addressograph on ebay for sale... so if you buy based on a POP alone, BEWARE!
