    Mid Year SB Hood (65-67)

Can someone please help me, by explaining any differences in the small block hoods (65-67)? Pictures would really be great! My '67 has, what I'm told is a '66 hood with the emblem on the front left corner. I'd like to find an original '67, to put back on the car.

    TIA

I ran a search with no luck. To be more specific, were the holes used to access the bottom of the emblem studs on the 66 hood, drilled out or punched out on a 67 hood, or were the holes "embossed" but not drilled?

65 hood frame does have emblem hole slots
66 hood and frame has emblem holes
67 only the hood frame has the slots like 66

Here's a photo of the driver side front corner of a 1967 SB hood. 1965-1967 SB hoods are identical EXCEPT for these holes. Disregard the white cord, hood is hung as wall art. A 1965 SB hood does not have these holes in the inner support frame. A 1966 SB hood has the holes in the inner support frame as well all small holes drilled in the outer skin of the hood to mount "Corvette" script emblem. A 1967 SB hood has the holes in the inner support frame but no holes in the outer skin, hence no emblem. Only a 1966 has the emblem. As you can see, a 1966 and 1967 are somewhat interchangeable, a 1965 is a one off.

Remove the emblem, fill the holes in the outer skin, now you have a 1967 SB hood!!
