Here we go again>C2-S/B-Valve Cover Decals

My car is a 1966 300HP Base Engine. Here is my problem>

I will adhere the decals and they will be fine at first. After a while they curl off. I could use some suggestions to
keep them from doing this. I have the adhesive(Peel Off The Back) type. I have never seen these offered in the
"Water Soluble" type. What is the current thinking on this problem?
    Does anybody know of a "Heat Resistant Adhesive" to put under the corners? I am reluctant to use "Super Glue";
but would try it IF IT WORKS.
Has anybody tried this? Results? Need Comments>Larry

Edward: Thanks for the response. Like I said in the above>There is no "Water Soluble" for my decals made.
(Unless There is and I do not KNOW about it) SO>AFAIK>I am stuck with the Peel And Stick Type. BTW> Do NOT have
to start engine to create heat; with no heat>THEY ARE STILL PEELING BACK FROM THE CORNERS.
All idea's are needed including using "Super Glue Gel". Thanks Again>Larry

Larry, I think that I maybe thinking of the Hp decal on side of cover, I think you talking with upper decal that is the peel and stick. I was thinking that maybe some contact cement may work, apply to the outer edges lightly? Do you think that would work?

Edward: At this point I'm not sure what if anything will work. May have to just live with it. Hope to hear
from someone with confirmed results. Larry

My 1963 fuel car has one valve cover decal that is water soluable. The other one is a stick on my buddy made for me at the 11th hour before a show. Sharp judges caught that of course.
Larry if you do find water soluable buy two sets as you will need them. John

John: Just curious; how is that "Water Soluble" decal holding Up with the heat? Has it been on there
              a long time? Thanks; Larry

Larry this winter I cleaned up my 365 hp valve covers. The decals were on them since I bought the car in 05 and they were passable. Try a little high temperature gasket spray on the decal

Larry, If you look carefully on Ebay you can find the correct water soluable decals. Beware of some listing not saying water soluable.
Make sure your valve cover doesn't have any grease on it and the decals should stay on for many years. I get customers valve covers thatare included with a fuel injection unit that still have the decals on them. John

If you use the water soluble decals I have read (posts in threads in this forum) that you should soak the decal in a special decal setting solution before you apply the decal to the desired surface. Just soaking in water apparently isn't good enough. I think the product that was most recommended was Testors decal setting solution. I haven't tried it but a lot of people that have used this stuff say it works great. https://www.testors.com/product-cata...s/tools/decals

I found the thread in the forum that talked about decal solutions. The recommended product is Solvaset Decal Setting Solvent. https://www.walthers.com/solvaset-de...-59-1ml-bottle Not expensive.

John>Thanks for your input. Checked EBay and found NO 300HP(The type I want) are offered in water soluble.
I want the type that has the 300 HP on top of the Valve Cover(Shown Below) May try a very very small amount
of Gel type super glue on the corners. Thanks again>Larry
