Re: Clearing the Air
Dave, I believe the loophole would best be described as - "complacency by the setting directors that allowed her to arrive at her first board meeting as an elected representative, and announce her interest in the position of president, via telecommunication, since she was not attending the board meeting after an executive session during which she never mentioned or discussed her intentions, then she got elected. Thus becoming a president that had never attended a single complete board meeting as an elected regional representative." there is now a mechanism in place if I understand correctly that means the intention of running for president must be announced prior to the execution of a blind sided coop. I thought it was a travesty when it happened, she threw 48 or 49 years of history out the window with her move and the results are now becoming obvious. To me it appears her major intent was to disrupt and she has and still is and it is at the cost of the membership.- Top

Re: Clearing the Air
But in all fairness Roy, 5 board members voted for her for President. So 5 people wanted her to be President instead of Mike, that seems to be a fact. She did not do that on her own alone.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Clearing the Air
If I could give maybe a different perspective: I did not like how she came into her position and immediately started to exert her power. I thought that I would watch the Zoom meeting (all 5 hours 16 minutes- I could be wrong on the length) to hopefully change my mind. She did have some positive marketing ideas; and, in my opinion, I believe that NCRS could strengthen its marking arm for the organization. I do have an MBA in marketing, and I taught it at UWRF. Having watched to entire Zoom meeting, I went back to my initial impression of her. She came in with guns a blazing and seemed to want to put her stamp on NCRS. A more thought-out cautious approach with by in by several of the board members would have served her better in the long term. This is an organization that goes back many many years with a storied history and it behooves any future leader to learn about the organization and its members, plus the political ramifications before they want to step into that leadership role. I was the CEO of the Festival and Heritage Foundation that ran the St. Paul Winter Carnival, and we would always have people that wanted to come in and change things without knowing the complete lay of the land. They did not last long. I hope that I did not offend anyone!- Top

Re: Clearing the Air
Being a member for 35 years or so I still have three pocket numbers book and a faded old 20 anniversary tee shirt that I was given by the NCRS for renewing membership early or signing up for a few years at a time. It would be nice if the club would get back to rewarding members with a treat once in a while. Give excess back once and a while- Top
