Re: Barrett Auction
Can any old timer help me out. There was a Blue/ Blue 67 L-88 clone that sold there. I talked to the owner & by the way the new NCRS president. Corvette was somewhat correct & I remember at BG in the late 70"S or early 80'S 2 guys had it or one just like it for sale. Wonder if this was the same one. Think it sold Friday night for 125,000.00
The one that blew me away was the 54 I believe on friday for 335K, and not much surprises me at the auction.
I do believe there was a very interesting occurance at this auction.
First I think the restomod Corvettes as they are called seemed a bit soft compared to past years. Is that a sign that the "FAD" is calming or cooling? The only barn burner was the Jeff H 67 convertible. Even the Kindig car did not match some of the projected bell ringer prices.
Second I think some low mileage well preserved cars broke the bank. Is that a sign that the collector hobby in general is recognizing "They are only Original Once"?
Finally I thought two cars in particular failed to meet expectations. the Miller 66 425 coupe and the Verillo 63 fuelie coupe! they were both under the money given the recent market.- Top

Re: Barrett Auction
Yes, good points Roy, now ask yourself what the very original '67 yellow coupe currently on BaT would bring at BJ.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Barrett Auction
Ken, unfortunately I resemble that request, it was not the car you are thinking of at Bloomington.

Guys, we are headed, or already into a soft market, so to speak...- Top
