Been watching the BJ auction. Most Corvettes that came through were resto-mods hammering the bigger dollars. Some numbers 63 splits and 67s came through higher. Other Vettes not so much as one would expect. Winged Mopars, GTs and Shelby cars seemed to do very well.

Re: Barrett Auction
Can any old timer help me out. There was a Blue/ Blue 67 L-88 clone that sold there. I talked to the owner & by the way the new NCRS president. Corvette was somewhat correct & I remember at BG in the late 70"S or early 80'S 2 guys had it or one just like it for sale. Wonder if this was the same one. Think it sold Friday night for 125,000.0065 350 TI CONV 67 J56 435 CONV,67,390/AIR CONV,70 454/air CONV,

Re: Barrett Auction
I used to go to that auction every year for many years, I stopped going about 5 years ago as the cars and the people and the circus/entertainment hyporama atmosphere got very unlike anything I wanted to attend. The circus barker lectures by Craig and the sunglasses-at-night guy were just silly and over the top. The cars, especially Corvettes, became something not of my generation or interest. I guess maybe this is what generational change looks like in the car hobby. Maybe this is where NCRS wants to go, if they could ever decide on changing the totally inappropriate "Concours" moniker (and without several people threatening to quit if they do) to something more logical and understandable to the younger generation (like "Modified" or "Custom", etc.), we will see.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Yes, that '62 was off the charts amazing, and more than 1 person wanted to pay near that price, I still can't believe that was real.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Not a 62 expert but I have owned several including a RPO car. I counted 4 items incorrect under the hood just from the camera. As the old saying goes " A fool and his money will soon be parted"Founder - Carolinas Chapter NCRS- Top

Re: Barrett Auction
I have noticed inconsistencies on auction Corvettes that have NCRS designations of some sort. Of course parts can be changed after the car was judged or awarded. However, an NCRS award is a big selling point for a Vette. Not knocking any auction car, but as always let the buyer beware.- Top

Re: Barrett Auction
Bill, times have changed for sure along with prices. Wish I kept my 70 LS6. Sold that long before the astronomical rise. Oh well, at least I kept the old Vettes that I bought for what a set of tires go for now.- Top
