I have no problem with free choices in automobiles (or kitchen appliances, etc.), but I do have a problem with the government forcing you into what they want you to buy and providing free cash (from me) to help in the "transition" to a no choices situation at a date certain time, as California has done and the Congress has hinted at doing. I think Wyoming has the right idea......

From an engineering perspective, what an awesome achievement for a bargain price given its performance. If Corvette didn't go electric the brand would soon be obsolete.

I recognize it's personal taste, but it's hard for me to get past the busy origami styling. It would be awesome if the design was cleaned up, a la Ferrari GTB/GTS.

I know that this is moving away from a Corvette technical discussion and I apologize for that but I must respectfully ask... You're not OK with states mandating that you must buy an EV but you ARE OK with a state telling you can't. Which part of gov't interference am I missing?

You misunderstood my point. I am not OK with the government mandating any consumer choices. I just found it amusing a conservative state would propose a mandate to outlaw EVs, while so many liberal states are using mandates to outlaw ICEs. My way of pointing out this is all about politics.

Just switched my deposit for a 2023/24 convertible traditional to a 2024 E Vette. Looking forward to delivery building it and taking delivery.

                Re: E-Ray

You obviously did not read the article. The E-ray is NOT an "Electric" vehicle. It IS an ICE vehicle with a hybrid assist for the front two wheels where the extra hybrid power is generated FROM THE ICE ENGINE. There is NO PLUG IN. The extra 160HP hybrid motor doesn't even take up any addition room from the vehicle. I imagine you had a big problem with those fuel injection units back in 1957 too.

The problem with your view on THIS Corvette is that it is not even an EV vehicle. It is little more than an ICE powered vehicle with a hybrid motor assist. this doesn't fall under ANY government mandate (which I agree should NEVER happen in a free society).

                    Re: E-Ray

This has nothing to do with my point of view at all. I was questioning someone else's comment. I know this is an ICE not electric. That conversation will come up in a year or 2 when the all electric Corvette is announced.

taken too far afield.. The E-Ray is coming. Arguing the politics of it is outside the purpose of this TDB.
