Re: Fender cover rules?
Local biker leather shop was able to sew the double layer of flannel I bought from hobby lobby. Now I can keep the covers on for more than 24 hours if I choose. I prewashed the flannel to prevent any shrinkage or dye bleeding.- Top

Re: Fender cover rules?
I started with a Harbor Freight 72"x80" blanket by laying it on the closed hood. Feeling for the hood surround seams, I marked this outline on the blanket and then made marks toward the center for the sides and front drops. These drops are important so that the engine fan and atmospheric wind doesn't get underneath the blanket and blow it off. This one has a small cutout for the voltage regulator on the right side. I don't recall if the 2.5" slit at the top right was intentional or a cutting mistake but it works great with it to tuck around the hood catch and master cylinder.

Re: Fender cover rules?
Mark, I missed this post from you in January..... I've had these covers for at least 30 years.
My wife also made a couple of sets for each on the boys and their cars. Never any problems with paint "marring" etc. and you know how "anal" Mark is about his cars.......

Owen,
thank you kindly for taking the time to share this. I have done more than my share of moving and must have 30 or so of these moving blankets. Hmmm...maybe some retirement revenue...with royalties to you of course. I owe you a beer!!
Regards,
Keith***************
