    C2 Accelerator Rod Lever Bushings

Inquiring if anyone knows a source for original style, accelerator lever "geared" (tooth) rubber bushings?

    Happy New Year,
    Joe

Joe- David Sokolowski has had them infrequently. His number is in the Driveline. Happy New Year to you.

      Joe,

Don't think originals were geared but those were replacements or may have been on some GM cars of the 60's! But I do have a couple and would be glad to give them to you. Also will send you a couple of original small plastic bushings to go with them. Merry Christmas!

Interested in knowing the “why” behind the internal cogs. Less Friction?

Joe, the cogged or geared configuration is a production feature. Don Hooper's recommendation is a good one. Good luck! Tony

Here's a small example of the collection thru the years. Sent the geared ones (2) with the proper small plastic bushing to Joe Santamaria so he could feed the 66 judges!

Thanks Don and Tony for David S recommendation - Like many of us I have gone to David quite a few times in the past.

John- the picture of the one half 'geared' bushing looks just like the one I go out of my '63 in multiple pieces. Didn't know they were also sing that bushing in '66.

Special thanks to Joe Ray for coming through, as it looks like I should be able to get this right. Appreciate what all you guys do for us and the hobby!

Interesting post. I don't believe the geared rubber bushing was discussed here before.
Many years ago Bob Jorjorian told me about it. I looked on my 63 FI car and saw it had/has that geared one. It's not in the best shape and I was going to replace it until Bob told me otherwise.
                  Nice presentation Joe Ray.

They were using it already in 1962.

Michael Hanson (I miss him all the time) and Bob Jorjorian told me that they looked for an eon in junk yards at other make vehicles and NEVER
found or saw a geared rubber bushing.
Neither one could believe I had one on my car. I had to send them pics. The good old days.
                      Happy New Year All. JD

JD we talked about them a few years ago. You and Bob got in on the discussion, Here in this thread.

I'd never seen one before until on that '63 I had here.

My '65 still has them on it. I also have a partial package of the GM bushings that are not geared, GM p.n 3794377.

Joe. I found the before photo of my original 1965 FI car which shows the clogged insert. Hope this helps. Good luck! Tony
