Re: Soaking Degreaser Recommendation?
I've cleaned a few things at the quarter car wash lol ! Worked well.
If your control valve is the original one, KEEP IT. Pay the core charge if you want to replace it, AND ask if they balance them. SSBC used to balance then, but they have changed hands. They may also have original, rebuilt ones. The new ones aren't quite the same.
I would rebuild an original one. It's fairly easy.- Top

Re: Soaking Degreaser Recommendation?
Just a word of caution - if you use any petroleum based fluids (kerosene) or other volatile liquid agents,......turpentine, acetone, alcohol, etc to clean car parts .... be sure you DO NOT put rags or paper towels that are saturated with the fluids in a trash can. If you do you will very likely be woken up by a member of the local fire departmental driving an axe through your front door in an attempt to rescue you.
Any of those petrol based or volatile fluids will spontaneously ignite in a partially enclosed container. You need to have a plastic bucket filled about half way with water - immerse the saturated rag or paper towel in the water - once soaked it can be rung out and then spread out to dry - then when it is dry you can safely throw it in a trash can.Ed- Top

Surprised no one has mentioned WD-40, a plastic brush or scraper, followed up with simple green. Has always worked for even the heaviest gunk.1969 Riverside Gold Coupe, L71, 14,000 miles. Top Flight, 2 Star Bowtie.- Top
