    Re: Aluminum valve cover restoration

Bill, sorry, I'm not sure what process JD uses. Maybe others do. You could always contact John thru this site. He also did my fuel injection unit. It was an absolute work of art when finished! John is the best!

My trick is cleaning the valve cover when letting it set in EvapoRust. The aluminum look new.

Thanks for mentioning my name for valve cover refinishing. Sorry to say I don't do that anymore. We only do it along with the restorations of the fuel injections. Reason being I cannot handle the work load. Thanks again, John

Patrick, Your transmission looks great and I'am sure the valve covers look just as good. If you don't mind me asking what was the cost? Also is vapor blasting- vapor honing and wet blasting the same?
          Thanks Bob

            Bob,

I know I got a better place because I hand delivered my items and talked to the guy about my parts. I wanted to see his operation.
            And, I paid cash.
Normal price would be ABOUT $150 for trans, $100-125 for the valve covers based on my recollection.

Patrick, Thanks for the reply . The prices you listed seem fair and as I said the transmission looks great.

              Thanks again Bob
