Did all 1963 Corvettes come with Borg-Warner T-10 transmissions or did some come with Muncie transmissions?

Re: 1963 Transmissions
The 63 Muncie case is another only 63 part. The 63 case has a small bearing retainer which is designed to fit the 63 bell housing which again is different then later years. I agree with Rick's comment above that the Muncie transmission began to appear the beginning of May 63.- Top

Re: 1963 Transmissions
The Muncie I have has a main case #3831704, left side cover #3831707, tail stock #3871731, and a date code of P0211. Does this sound correct for a Muncie from 1963?- Top

Michael, what are you looking to do:- See if the Muncie you have is original to the car, if yes, the VIN derivative should be stamped on the Muncie
- See if the Muncie you have is a period correct Muncie and put in in your car?

Re: 1963 Transmissions
Harry,
I would like to unite this transmission to the car it belongs to. I wanted to find out more about it before I put in the orphan section.- Top

Re: 1963 Transmissions
Michael, if there is no VIN stamped on the transmission, it's safe to say it is not from a Corvette.

Re: 1963 Transmissions
Fellows,
The transmission does have a VIN. (#3200740). I didn't want to post it until I knew for sure what the transmission was.- Top

Re: 1963 Transmissions
3200740 I believe is out of a passenger car. This is a 63 stamp 31....... Out of 63 VIN 18295.
Out of all the conversations I had today, that transmission came out of one of the 1.5 million 1963 Impalas produced.
