    Jack------

I'm not surprised, at all. Many such parts for older applications, in particular, are being manufactured in China. There likely is not any US-based manufacturer for this part. So, if one wants a US-manufactured bearing, NOS may be the only way to go. However, remember what I mentioned previously: there are many levels of parts manufacturing in China (just as there are in the US). A tier 1 Chinese manufacturer is going to produce parts just as good as a US tier 1. If one does not believe that, don't buy a new car; they're loaded with tier 1 Chinese parts.

Out of curiosity, does the National bearing appear EXACTLY like the Sachs you got previously?

BUT, in fine Black print is FEDERAL-Mogul MOTORPARTS. ON the bearing itself the word NATIONAL, 614018 corresponding to the box part # and the #21092001 K. I feel much better with this part vs the SACHS part. The National box was unsealed, part came in a sealed, clear cellophane bag. By the way, installation wise, there’s a cam/lobe on the clutch fork end. Does that go in facing the fork or the trans input shaft? Thanks, Jack J.

The below thread includes a nice diagram depicting the installation of the clutch release bearing on the clutch fork.
