I'm not surprised, at all. Many such parts for older applications, in particular, are being manufactured in China. There likely is not any US-based manufacturer for this part. So, if one wants a US-manufactured bearing, NOS may be the only way to go. However, remember what I mentioned previously: there are many levels of parts manufacturing in China (just as there are in the US). A tier 1 Chinese manufacturer is going to produce parts just as good as a US tier 1. If one does not believe that, don't buy a new car; they're loaded with tier 1 Chinese parts.
Out of curiosity, does the National bearing appear EXACTLY like the Sachs you got previously?
