Is the Permatex Ultra Black or Ultra Gray the best oil resistant gasket maker? Need something that will work with transmission gear oil.

Permatex has a specialty gasket maker sealant made for gear oil. It's what I would use on transmissions and differentials. The part number is 81182 (3 oz) and 81184 (5 oz). I ofter refer to the following chart:

I used anaerobic gasket sealer as recommended by Paul at 5speeds.com
Worked great, and easy to clean up after sealing.
