Any ideas on how to recreate the rubber cable grommet on a '67 seat belt safety cable. This is the cable that is installed though the frame just forward of the rear wheels. Thanks.

I use the 1/2" to 1/4" black heat shrink tubing material cut to 2-3/4" to 3" in length.

Re: Seat Belt safety cable rubber grommet
I have a question, is the outer bolt that threads into the frame captured by a welded nut on the inside portion of the frame? In other words, if I just take the bolt out will I drop the nut on the other side? I think it's welded, but not sure.Garry Barnes #18531

Re: Seat Belt safety cable rubber grommet
It is a welded nut. Unless it is so rusty that when removing the bolt you break the resistance welds, and it then floats around.NCRS New England Chapter Chairman 2022, 2024
