Looks like we have an interesting thread going here. Just to complicate it some, I have a copy of a lawsuit brought by Applied Arts Corporation against Grand Rapids Metalcraft Corp. dated Nov. 7, 1933. Seems there was a patent infringement by GRM Corp of an AAC design for a combination ash tray and electric lighter for automobiles. Believe AAC got the judgement, as best I can interpret legal writings.
It's possible that Applied Arts Corp. disbanded and reincorporated in 1964.
