    Logo AAC on C2 Ashtrays

Does anyone know what supplier company used the AAC logo on the C2 ashtrays? This stamping can also be found on the back of the C2 seat hinges or hockey sticks.

    Thanks,

    Dave B

I believe I have answered my own question due to inputs from a couple of experienced auto industry guys. AAC stands for Applied Arts Corporation of 365 Lane SW, Grand Rapids, Michigan. No longer in business, they made auto accessories to include ashtrays.

    Thanks for the interest.

I noticed your previous thread from three years ago, on the same topic, that was also ignored. (I thought guys here were interested in the minutia of these old cars ?).
I recently had something apart on my 64 or 65 and saw the AAC mark, and thought hey, the ashtray company made this too. It wasn't a hockey stick. But, I can't recall what it was. It's hard getting old. If I recall what it was, I'll post it.

        Dave & Don,

I'm away from my cars down south now but what about the cigarette lighter? I'm thinking they may have this stamp but I'm probably wrong?

        Getting older is right.

Edit: Just remembered this. If it's there it's probably on the outer sleeve and not on the lighter itself?

the lighter itself was by Casco. Perhaps the housing. After racking my brain I recall having a rocker molding off my 64 in the last few months, and the Distributor shield as well. May have seen the mark on one of those.

            Thanks Guys,
Don, don't know about the rocker moldings, but the only marks on the distributor shield I have seen is the FI CARB slots in the back. The lower spark plug wire heat shields have an AS stamping on them for Ajax Spring and Manufacturing Co., from Detroit.
Be interested if you remember where you saw another AAC Don. As they say, "Growing old ain't for sissies!"
            Cheers,
            Dave

              Hah!
No wonder I couldn't remember. It was pre-pandemic, Nov 2019,
the camber strut rod bracket on Jan 1964 coupe.

Check a few items; no on rocker panel (however it's dirty), no on lighter housing or bulb holder (however it's a 65/66 unit),
                YES on hockey sticks.

                  Dave,

State of Michigan shows AAC started in 1964. https://companiesmi.com/company/1654...ts-corporation

I have no idea if there is a connection but we look for an "AAC" stamp on 1958 - 1962 heater air inlet hose retainers. Don H.

If there is a concern about earlier than 1964 ACC markings - consider that ACC was incorporated in 1964. Many companies run for years before becoming "incorporated" (know I did)

Missed that Gary! So searched for Applied Arts Company - nothing. So where does that leave us on the C1 logo's ?
Note my 67 camber strut rod bracket is marked AAD
