    Headlight inner cup

Installing new bulbs, found 1 round outer headlight cup.
Both outers have #2 and OO
on the tabs. Which shape is correct for a mid -February 1967

Carmelo, Your outer with round hole is likely a replacement, but functional if it houses the bulb properly.

These from a late March '67. All squared hole.

Thanks Rich, will have to find an outer
#2-00. The others are the correct numbered cups as yours.

As long as we agree ,a February 67 uses the square hole.

Carmelo I think it'd be safe to say.... yes.

Gary, Good catch. Zooming closer also looks like the smaller top circle of the 8 is a telltale too.

A little more research..... This also helps confirm you want the square hole cups.

Interesting that the 1967 AIM only shows the assembly which includes the lamp, cup, ring and screws.

              5955493 Outer

The individual parts are not identified. I checked some of my parts books and none there either. Seems odd back in the day one couldn't buy just the cups over the counter.

It appears Zip Corvette sells the individual cups but not original configuration. They use A and B. EG HERE and HERE

Corvette Central has this quoted in their description of the 4 piece 66L-67 442131 set.... HERE
Correct reproduction set of 4 steel, gold-zinc plated 66L-67 headlamp bulb mounting cups. Mounts behind the headlight bulb. This version with the square center opening was used in late 1966 and 1967 These cups have the correct markings on the mounting tabs. The inners are stamped with a #1 and #98, the outers are stamped #2 and #00. 63L-66E with the round center hole use CC part #442102.

442102 is the round center, 63L-66E (??) HERE
Correct reproduction set of 4 steel, gold-zinc plated, 63L-66E headlamp bulb mounting cups. Mounts behind the headlight bulb. This version with the round center opening was used late 1963 to mid-1966. These cups have the correct markings on the mounting tabs. The inners are stamped with a #1 and #98, the outers are stamped #2 and #00. 66L-67 with the square center hole use CC part #442131

I'm uncertain about their gold-zinc finish as most I've ever seen were plain zinc.
