    69 L68 AC Hose supplier

    Hi all,

I have just fitted new C hoses purchased form a supplier in the US that do not even go close to fitting my car. The kinks and bends in the hoses, when fitted, could lead to a major problem in the future.

The main problem hose is the one from the muffler to the front of the car, it won't fit under the guard/bonnet rail without some real manipulation and is not able to be cut to size. The one that goes under the guard to beneath the AC box can be cut and U shaped end reattached.

Can someone please suggest a supplier that you have used that produces the correct part for my car (Not Paragon)?

Many thanks again for all your help over the past few years, it has been invaluable for a very remote Corvette owner in Oz.

      Grahame,

I have the same project in process with my '70. I sourced my AC hoses and receiver/dryer from Old Air Products in Fort Worth, TX (less than an hour from my home; half a world away for you). Here's the hose and manifold for your car (same part used for my car):

I have this part but haven't yet installed it, so I can't vouch for fitment. You might ask Paragon where they sourced your part to make sure it's not Old Air. They also have selected NOS parts like POA and expansion valves.

Keep us updated with what your learn. How did the core support and radiator come together?

Here's the hose and manifold from Old Air. The exposed rubber on the high pressure line is 20 1/4" long. (The photo shows the line curled; I wasn't able to take a photo while holding the hose straight with the tape measure). How does this compare with yours?

          Hi Mark,

I got a similar measurement to you at 20 1/2 inches for a stretched out hose. i'm going to have to find someone to attach the U shaped pipe to the hose once i get it to the correct size. I hope they can also remove and re-attach the pressure line ends as i'll have to cut this hose by about an inch and a half to fit correctly along the passenger side inner guard.

          The liquid line fits perfectly.

I also changed the pipes up front and i think these may also be the culprits but i didn't measure old against new, rookie mistake.

Thanks for your help, i'll let you know how i go.

I trial fit the manifold hose assembly and its length is good. I'm using original tubes that pass through the core support area so you might try your originals before tearing into the hoses.

                Thanks Mark and David,

Appreciate the feedback. I have a mobile guy coming next Tuesday who I believe can help with both hoses.

                Cheers
