    Carb throttleplate torque

How tight should I torque the throttleplate on my Holley carb? I had to have it repaired due to a crack.

If you mean base plate to manifold, then 60 to 80 inch pounds. Link to Holley site:

Dave, I meant baseplate to carb. I had to take the baseplate off for repair. I think the carb to manifold should be closer to 60 as the natural vacuum from the engine will keep the carb in place. Thanks Keith

The issue is not keeping it in place, vacuum leaks after the carb metering circuits will cause lean mixtures and really fight you setting the idle-(air introduced after fuel metering leans the mixture)

        REMEMBER INCH /Pounds

The base plates with the correct drivers rear mount tab are difficult to locate. By late 71 and as far as I know all of 72 have the re-enforced version of the base plate with the "additional lump" connecting the rear throttle blade shaft boss to the rear drivers mount tab.

Keith, I had a phone explode and I lost your contact info - send me a text.

Throttle plate to main body is 25 to 30 inch pounds. Torque values are in that link above.

Thats what I thought. Thanks Dave. I have a torque screwdriver coming to tighten up the screws. I thought my torque wrench would not give me accurate readings.
