I do believe that none of these lights are in the original locations. This was, I’m guessing, all done on purpose at some point.

The car is headed to mecum there is a u tube video and he never shows the rear end probably be repaired before the auction. Also shows a 67 that he is including a rare teakwood wheel with also going to the auction

There was a Popular Science article decades ago on how to do the 6-tail light mod correctly but some owners in their zeal just went medieval in doing this change. To compound things, less than knowledgable restorers, messed up reversing the mod trying to "bring the car back" to an original configuration. I've seen worse things done.

Thanks very much friends. I needed to be amused today.
Story about 6 taillights. I had several new midyears. Most of them came from Grabiak Chevrolet in New Alexander, PA now under new ownership under a different name.
One would not dare take his new midyear Corvette to the local curb service hangout without 6 taillights with sequential flashing. None of the cars had front bumpers either. Most of the guys had all the emblems removed. I did not.
One other tidbit. Coupes were not that popular then. Either were split windows. John

I thought the production split almost equally between coupes and convertibles in 63?

Judging by midyear Corvette production numbers overall, Coupes were not as popular as Convertibles in any of those years.

Of all the Coupes, '63 was most popular (and as Gary says, just slightly less than Conv.) and '65s were least popular.

All midyears combined, Coupes represented 39% of the total (61% Convertibles).

I was not able to afford or buy one for many decades, but better late than never.

Ditto what Michael said. When I was 13 I tried my damnedest to get my uncle to buy one but he refused so in 1980 I bought my own, a 63 SWC fuelie tanker. Best purchase I ever made.

Reminds me of my best friend who tried to convince his Dad to buy one new too, but he said no and bought a new Corvair instead, huge mistake, he never forgave his Dad......
