Re: 1963 A/C Cars
Harry is aware of my intrusion in his thread... I'm hoping some of you folkz have additional info to share, and can enhance our collective knowledge.
Looking at the Misc Shipping List from the 63 Corvette AIM, we see mention of an OPERATIONAL TAG (3837398) that was added in late May.
(as we are aware, the actual use of the tag on the assembly line, can easily be BEFORE or AFTER that date)
The tag was intended to go inside the glove box, with the owners manual and plastic envelope.

Looking at the 3837398 tag itself, this was already in use for other Chevy vehicles (they had various tags for different style A/C systems):

We have no idea if/how long this tag may have been used, when someone discovered that the directions didn't work for a Corvette.
In my discussions with Tom Christmann (who was initially unaware of this tag), we've theorized that NEW instructions were in order.
Since there were so few A/C Corvettes in production, perhaps the NEW instructions were even printed right at the assembly plant.
He indicated his Corvette (17000 VIN range) had the instructions similar to the REPRO below:

Looking at the A/C stickers listed in the 63 Corvette AIM, we see a glove box sticker was updated in late March.
(again, we are uncertain exactly when the assembly line changes took place)
Initially, the sticker was an older Chevy version... then updated to a new sticker.

Researching the revised 3847800 sticker (thanx to Scot Evans), it seems that the DATE is in error on the REPRODUCTIONS.

If any 63 Corvette A/C owner has some original paperwork (instructions or glove box sticker), please chime in with your findings.
(kindly include some info to help date your findings... a VIN, partial VIN, Trim Tag week, would be very helpful)
