    1963 A/C Cars

Just going through my inventory of 63 A/C cars. It's a small count, 46 cars. I shown 9 coupes with a 4 speed and 3 convertibles with a 4 speed.

Anyone have a larger inventory with a breakout of 4 speeds by coupe vs. convertible.

    Thanks

You could try this gent Harry: sgbram@sympatico.ca
He is "gold63" on the CF and has been collecting detailed 63 info for a LONG time..
I don't know how he can "rack and stack" various options but he might have the breakout you're asking about.

Looks like you found the $200k SWC on Facebook with no pictures!
Tom Christmann has the most extensive data on 63 C60 cars anywhere going back 40 years.

OK here goes, as I understand the STV is different they are marked with an Arrow to indicate flow, any pictures, also are the A/C duct for a ‘63 different, any pictures, also is there a way to tell if the evaporator box has been added.

                Harry,

The Larry D. Brooks of Hickory NC registry might be a good source of 63 AC cars for you. Also, many other options are spelled out and you may have use of all the information on 63's.

The 63 STV has a different shaped arrow. The 63 lower ducts are a greenish gray color and the ball has a different shape from 64-67. Yes, it is very difficult to hide the fact the box was added. You would need to pull the top surround and the cowl apart to reproduce what the factory did.

Thanks Harry, but do you have any pictures? All of this spelled out in the new manual but pictures would be helpful of the real parts.

I do not know why they were not in the new manual, they were all available. I'll be presenting at the 2022 National Convention a C2 C60 topic to assist judges. It's a 3 point class. I'm adding additional slides over the next several months. It is about 175mg of pictures. When completed I can share it.

JR, I do not see Larry as an NCRS member. Would you have contact information.

                        Thanks

                          Harry,

I have his address but checking with friends in Hickory as I think Larry Brooks passed several years ago.

                              Hi Harry,
It took some real digging but here's what I see in my data to date.

Looking only at 63's recorded after vin 13,000, I count 117 cars said to have A/C.
Of those 117 cars, 39 Coupes and 9 Convertibles are listed with a 4spd. Just 1 Convertible is listed with a 3spd.
