Re: 'New' '66 joins fleet...
Not a big deal on a Healey, you don't expect them to run anyway
I not sure I'd go to all the trouble of threading a Lucas wire into the original sleeve, though....The boots just disintegrated & I'm amazed to see the black corrosion on the distributor end's brass connector...

Re: 'New' '66 joins fleet...
The first thing I would check is the upper A arm bolts. They tend to work loose on BBs more frequently than SBs. I have had them work loose on my '66 L36, even lost one in the driveway after a cruise. That's a safety issue of high importance. How easily does it start after sitting or when it is hot? I would also check for any oil leaks around the top of the oil filter canister, over time they can also become weak. Good luck and have fun, my '66 L36 is my favorite driver, less drama than the fuelies.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: 'New' '66 joins fleet...
Mike: Just a few items I do with my 66 Red Coupe for the Winter. Put in straight Av Gas in tank to be safe for
gas deterioration purposes. I take my battery out and put a small trickle charger on it. These two items have
never failed me. Good Luck>LarryLarry

Re: 'New' '66 joins fleet...
Mike: Looks like your in good shape with my suggestions. AFA the Chrome Vs. Chevy Orange if you search the board I believe
it was Duntov's decision to this. Reason IIRC was the Orange made the B/B stand out better under the hood. Too each his own
on this but I prefer the Chevy Orange. I had a 68 L68 which chrome factory covers and it just did not come across as good as
the orange but that's just me. Thanks>LarryLarry
