1969 Steering Relay Rod (w/o PS)

I recently purchased a 1969 SB from the original owner. Body is off and I'm working on the chassis. Trying to locate a shop drawing, or similar, to verify the manual steering relay rod (3952701) is dimensionally "correct" and not bend/deformed/twisted.

As that blueprint may be tough to find....

Post some photos of yours with some measurements along side a straightedge at fixed points.

Some here with the same rod may be able to get some references for you.

I think I have 2, one NOS and one used (removed from my 1969 when I converted to power steering) [none for sale]. However, I'm in Italy right now and won't be home for several weeks. When I get home I'll be able to photograph and measure one.

By the way, the 1969 and later relay rods, both manual and P/S, are different from earlier as they are 7/8" OD versus 3/4" for earlier.

Frank until Joe returns here are several from a '67 for reference. Even though it's a smaller diameter rod as Joe mentions it may help compare.

I think you may be right that yours may have a bend.
