    207 coil

    Hey guys,
Need a little help here. I have two 207 coils . One has 207 imprinted at the top of the coil and the other at the bottom of the coil. The judging manuel doesn't state which one is correct? One I think is a repro? which one is correct?

    Re: 207 coil

I am not familiar with the 207 coil however with the 091 coil the originals are embossed near the bottom and the reproduction is near the top. I would guess the 207 is the same.

      see: https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...Coil-Embossing
      Also check with Dave Fiedler
The 207 coil I have is embossed on the can 207, under that 12V, about 3/4" from bottom
Only Delco Remy on top (Coil I look at has magnetic studs - thanks Mike)

Bruce, are the case diameters the same between the two?

Rick, yes they are the same size. But the coil I bought has non magnetic posts. According to Mike this isn't correct. Also the bottom of the coil is flat with no indentions. So I guess I got my answer.

Yes sir, also another sign fyi is thickness, as many if not all of the chinese repros are fatter in diameter. Glad you got what you needed.

                      Re: 207 coil

I'm about to start my 67 BB 435 after 5 years of getting booged from A6 compressors and the shooting of my son who is doing well from less than 1% chance of living.
I went to points back in the 70's due to unreliability of electronic devices. I need to buy a coil that is most correct. I have many on the shelf , but am open to a new one. Any suggestions?

Dom, glad your son is doing well. I have been wondering, but I would not ask.

                          Dan,
Thanks for all the prayers from the forum. he is different now and can't work because of the massive stroke when they removed part of his brain, but he is with us and still knows cars. Just can't work on them. Walks, but can't use his left side.
He beat the less than 1% chance of survival. He will hear that 67 roar.

Bruce, I did not read all the replies. Put a magnet on the two threaded studs. Repro studs are not magnetic. John
