    1975 L-48 engine Valve cover label

    Can anyone provide a photo of the YELLOW TAG with number 330534 attached to the Passenger side valve cover and in the vicinity of the crankcase vent intake. The TIMJG on page 59 top paragraph states: " The passenger's side cover has a crankcase vent intake and a YELLOW TAG with black numbers reading 330534 with a black grommet, black metal tube and black hose extending to the air cleaner base."

      It's on the hose connection, not the valve cover. Assuming you're using the old JG, wait for the new one before making many/any changes to your car.

          Hi again Lynn,
          That information in the "outdated second edition" isn't correct. It was probably just a carryover from the 73-74 TIM&JG. Part number 330534 is for the 73-74 SB crankcase tube. The tube is different for '75 even though some vendor catalogs list it for 73-75 350's. There is also a different tube for the 73-74 454 engines and it is 330523. The air cleaner base on the '75 is a tad different ( in the rear) than the 73-74 because of the HEI distributor. Thus the need for a different shaped Vent tube. If I'm not mistaken I believe the GM part number for the 75-81 tube is 3970072. Since you asked for a photo here are photos from a 73-350 and a 74 -LS4 that show original yellow part number tags on the vent tubes. I've included a nice photo of a '75 Vent tube for you to note the difference in shapes. Hope this helps clarify.
          Please heed Patrick's advice and try to wait for the new revision before making changes to your car!
