Do you have an LED bulb in your opener. Some openers like the old bulbs.

O'Reilly's used to sell them, but like many things during the pandemic they aren't available now - you can read the specifications here and perhaps make your own:

Seriously, sometimes its just a crappy remote FOB, the one I replaced in my Tundra would only work in certain discrete spots in my driveway...sometimes worked 20' away and sometimes wouldn't work 10' away...

                Brooks,

                1) is there any noise/static on your AM radio when not tuned to a station?
                2) if so, do it increase when you race the engine? If so, it's probably your alternator that's interfering with your garage door opener remote control.
                3) try putting the remote control in a aluminum or steel pie pan and holding the garage door opener above the windshield to see if that shields the remote from the interference

Hi Guys, this morning I went out to my '67 and unplugged the gray connector on the alternator. I then started the engine and without any problems the garage door opener worked flawlessly. I recon the next step is to take it and get it checked. Thanks again to all who responded to my post. I will let everyone know what the auto electric shop says. Have a good one! Brooks Glover Jr. (2141)

I have a Kirkham Cobra with a high spark ignition system and neither of my openers work when that car is running.

It is really quiet simple the car does not want to go back in the garage. So back out and go for another ride. When she needs gas or an oil change she will let the door open.
