I have a 69 Corvette and the clamp that holds the washer system hoses that mounts about 10 inches forward of the firewall on the drivers side under hood rail fell off. I have an NOS clamp but I was wondering what type of rivet was used an if it was inserted from the top or bottom of the hood rail. If anyone has a picture that would help.

It appears to be a round-headed aluminum rivet and it is definitely installed from the top. It appears to have been set in a rather unusual manner in that the post is not flattened but rather "split" in a "V"-like configuration.
It was supposed to be GM #3828548 which I cannot find was ever available in SERVICE. However, GM #3828548 was a flat head aluminum rivet and the rivet in question was definitely not a flat head rivet. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Clamp riveted to drivers side hood rail
My car has been re-painted and the rivet is painted. However, my distinct recollection is that the rivet was originally painted, as well. I have absolutely no recollection of a bare aluminum rivet at that location. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I believe 1969 was the last year for the configuration I pictured. I think 1970+ went to the vertical mount as you describe. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Clamp riveted to drivers side hood rail
It would seem most 70 in that thread had the bracket/rivet mounted on the horizontal surface with the "phantom hole" on the vertical surface. In reading through this thread there is mention of 71 having the hole/rivet on the vertical surface. We weren't able to determine why this hole was there on the 70 model. Perhaps the answer may be in the relocation of the hole for 71.
