    AC Fuel Filter - ID

Sorry, no picture. Bowl Assembly in a line. Aligned with "IN" and "OUT" as the N/S poles, "OUT" would be printed upside-down and be NORTH; "IN" would be right-side up and be SOUTH; 1/4 tall embossed "AC" in the center; NE quadrant has "MADE IN U.S.A."; NW quad has "PAT. NOS."; SW has "1,705,042"; SE has "2,159,196". Glass bowl has "A" and "C". Filter missing. Appears to be 5/16" fine IN and OUT holes. What is it? Thanks.

Loren, Without doing a lot of checking you seem to be describing the 56-57 dome AC Gasoline Strainer Assembly. Not sure if the 5/16 fine IN and OUT holes are OK. Have info somewhere.

      Loren,

Here is a pic of some filters. Is this what you are describing?

Joe, after conceding your status as a "hoarder", yes. I guess I'm wondering whether Mark's patent info provides a clue, as well as the 5/16" vs. 3/8" lines. Trying to find out for a friend who "risked" $5 at a garage sale............. Thanks.

            Joe,
That filter is identical to the fuel filter on my 1924 Chevy! Want to let go of one of them? LOL you shouldn't miss one!

Okay, where are the guys with the early '56s with the 5/16" fuel lines..............

Re: AC Fuel Filter - ID

Still having a little problem with your described 5/16 fine IN/OUT holes. You are correct re: early 56 5/16 fuel line however if that fuel filter with 5/16 holes was used, by adding the brass fitting to attach that line it would seem the fuel restriction would become even greater.
