    Peace. I was looking at the 1970 AIM... 1972 may also be different.

      Peace right back at you. I also don't have the '72 AIM so it may be different. Your 70 AIM matched my 69.

        From '72 (the only specific PO2 reference I can find is on M299 where options are listed) UPC 10 A1, Note G references optional need for a valve extension:

          Thanks, Owen. I agree that the extension was used only for "options requiring same" as stated in the '72 AIM. In an effort to help clarify a little more, I've attached a copy of the wheel options form the back of the AIM's OPTION LIST. Other than the menu of tires, (BW? WSW, RWL), the only option I see listed is the PO2 wheel cover.

          I hope this helps.

            Grp. 5.875 -- 9417745 Extension tubeless tire valve stem (7/8 OL)
            Plain black plastic Type F extension. Effective length installed from top of valve stem to end is .500 To check for correct finished installation note Design consideration: "To provide adequate clearance space for servicing it is recommended extension protrude beyond wheel cover a minimum of .375 inch for type F".
