Some Advantages of a Side Pipe Car Vs. Non Side Pipe Car

We all know that having a side pipe car is a personal preference; some like it/some don't for various reasons.
Here are my reasons for liking them.

    1) It does take some total weight out of a car. How much I'm not sure but it seems those mufflers in the
back are big and heavy and awkward.

2)When one works on a Corvette we all know how tight small places are the norm. Those DAM UNDERNEATH
PIPES AND MUFFLERS ARE ALWAYS IN THE WAY!!

3)There is nothing like the looks of a side pipe car; sorry but that is JMHO

Larry I could not agree about the looks more. I have both types of exhausts on my cars and probably will not buy another mid year or 69 without side pipes. As for working on a side pipe car it is nice to not have to remove the mufflers for an rear area work

Doing a clutch job with side pipes is a breeze, big block or small block.

          4) The look of the back of the car is better with out two holes and pipes coming out the rear valence, JMHO.

Truly hard to believe with a straight face but there are some (again to each their own) think a Corvette is better looking in the
above picture then the bottom. I for one when looking at a Corvette LOOK AT ALL POSITION OF THE CAR. I treat the underneath of the vehicle no different and equal then the top. JMHO>Larry

A couple other side pipe advantages. Rear bumpers don't rust out and there is more clearance under the car..ask me how I know. Having said that I prefer the sound of the Off Road exhaust.

With owning a side pipe car you may be getting a hearing aid sooner from the loss of hearing.

It's sure an advantage when it's time to sell the car.
