Re: 64 ignition switch replacement
i checked ebay. the only switch listed is the replacement like i got. i think i will try my old switch with the raised woodruff -like pin that fits the rear of the dash to keep from spinning.
thanks for all the help guys.

Re: 64 ignition switch replacement
This NOS part is up on ebay.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Corvette-11...cAAOSw5Jdf1jPg
You can not see the number on the part. I sent the seller an email, the reply was. The auction says it a 650. Unless he shows a picture you can't prove it.
There are some 1116635 and 1116650 USED on eBay but NOS it the way to go.

Re: 64 ignition switch replacement
Another angle (for those who like to work on stuff), there are many other GM cars of the era that had similar type switches that could be harvested as good donors for the inside wear parts if you want to save your original 635 case if something is broken.- Top

Re: 64 ignition switch replacement
i checked ebay for 635 switches and found 2, each is $150. they are correct castings. i finally got off dead center and cleaned, lubed it. new lock cylinder works well. so i reinstalled it and it seems to work ok. now i've got to find the accessory wire(brn) in the harness, as the previous owner didn't for some reason. the circuit diagram has several brown wires so i'll be upside down under the dash for a while looking for it. it will take a few pain pills after the fact to recover..old injury to back keeps popping up. i hope to close the book on this one. will advise.- Top
