are there any opinions that this mirror (#985657) in the add would pass ncrs judging?

      Dominic,

Even if the configuration of the eBay mirror is correct, it might take a condition hit if there are any defects in the silver mirroring. I think you might be better off contacting Joyce Borrell via her website: https://mirrorladypa.com/

I think Rick Barrack would confirm that is exactly the day/night mirror we would expect to see on a 65 car with BU lights. It matches the description in the 65 JG.

            Dominic,

I finally located my Chevrolet Accessory guides ( P & A 32 ) for most of the mid '60's. Chevrolet offered very few Accessory items for Corvettes and accessories were usually only good for the current year of production. My 1964 & 65 books both show part #985657 for application to Corvette ( also Chevy ll and Corvair ) as Day / Night non glare inside mirror 8" in length. The book also makes reference that it is part of Z01 option package. The 1966 book shows part # 986600 for '66 Corvette. The '67 thru '69 books have no listing for a Day / Night mirror for Corvettes. I purchased a mirror for my '65 in that time frame which is the #985657. It is stamped on the top " Guide Glare Proof " and on the bottom " Made in USA " . The word " Made " is to the left of the black twist knob and " in USA " is to the right.

                    Re: 1965 Day/Night Mirror

Great information guys. Just the information I was looking for in regards to the specifics on 1965 Corvette Convertible interior rear view mirror for Z01 option. I have the same mirror shown in the photos from Don Heckenburg. Mine also has the gray lever at the bottom.

I will have my mirror restored by the "mirroladypa.com" website, email: mirrorlady@yahoo.com. Will post some pictures once I get it back.

Thanks again for some great info on clearing this subject matter up!

                    Tony
