You bet, been through that 12 times and learned something every time, but never seen WRA before, also learned the wing window cranks have to point a certain direction, as well as the clove box light shield.- Top

Not that it means much but I've been judging for quite awhile and I've never heard of or used WRA.
The judge needs more training so the owner can receive useful information not an alphabet.
BTW, the team leader should have caught it when he reviewed the sheets...- Top

Yes, the owner should ask. The guidelines I give my judges is, when the owner gets home with his judging sheets, everything should be clear and legible. All abbreviations should be defined.

when I judge with other more experienced judges who use abbreviations they always wrote on the bottom what each one meant and always made it clear to the owner why we used them.
I am curious about the vent window cranks?- Top

Re: Just got a corvette judged, what does WRA mean
I recall several events back when I was National Team Leader where there was a stamp applied to the score sheets to "decode" frequently used abbreviations. This may still be in use, but I no longer have the chance to review score sheets, so I don't know how common this is now days. Based on the comments above, it may not be used any longer. Perhaps it is time to bring it back and make it more widespread than it was. Some I can remember:
WRA = Wear Rust and ageing
S/B = should be
TFP = Typical Factory Production
POR = Paint over rust
There are others, but that is all I can remember this early morning.
That stamp was applied to each group of score sheets. I believe it was applied either by the Team Leader or the Tab Team. These abbreviations are driven by the lack of space on the score sheets for comments. Some lines have a lot of space, but many (most?) don't have the room for detailed comments. The review of the score sheets by the judges with the owner should address these abbreviations, if used, but the chances of the owner remember these weeks later is slim. The stamp helped in that effort. I suggest we do it again.Terry- Top

Re: Just got a corvette judged, what does WRA mean
A senior judge in my chapter has pre-printed, adhesive-backed, labels (like address labels; Avery is one company that sells the blank labels) with all the abbreviations he might use when he judges. He sticks a label onto the bottom of one of the judging pages. It really speeds things up and makes it clear what each short, abbreviation he uses means.
Here’s a close-up of part of one sheet of labels given to me by the judge (Art McNay?) in my chapter.

BTW, speaking for a old tabulator here at home, the tabulators should not let judging sheets pass that do not have full explanations beyond the abbreviations. Tabs should immediately inform the team leader that the sheets need to be corrected before the owner gets them back.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
