Re: Battery Cable Woes- 1970 454
I have to get to the 5/16 bolts to check the TPI I am not 100% sure the thread count is 18 on the 5/16 diameter bolts. But this will do for a draft. We will likely use it in the next revision of the 1970-72 TIM&JG. That will help keep me from messing it up again.
Cable end pics coming next, but it will take a few days or weeks. I don't have files on those yet. Again more stiff for the next TIM&JG.Terry- Top

I don't know how you did that Mark, but it looks better than what I see on my computer.

Re: Battery Cable Woes- 1970 454
Here is 2017 thread in which Terry and Joe responded - 1970 SN 15000 range is stated - The original negative battery bolt is 7/16 head 5/16 - 18 threads, it is still staked in the cable and being used with a threaded adapter... SN 15000 range.

Re: Battery Cable Woes- 1970 454
Thank you Joe and Terry! The level of knowledge in this club is unbelievable.
Terry- I'll try to dig up your "Restorer" article. I may be returning the LL cable, but no worries- I'll be sure to get you a bolt. Do you want two?
Any thoughts about the starter end? Sleeve or no sleeve? Prong or no prong? I'm leaning to what was found on the car; that cable came with the car in 1990 and was worn out then. (It's amazing how much damage some people can cause just by removing/replacing a battery.)
Photos from my 1970 January 29 on the trim tag. The tab on the solenoid end is barely visible, but there is one.

Re: Battery Cable Woes- 1970 454
No Corvette so far has shown up with any of these original items intact. EDIT: Actually I know of a few Corvettes that have shown up with their original air filters intact, but none for original oil filters and no late 1969 to mid 1970 with their original battery bolts intact.
Any idea if the green 484(?) mile car has its original oil filter?

[QUOTE=Patrick Hulst (16386);879I believe the oil and filter had been changed on that car by the original owner.
