    C2 Headlamp Bezel Width

While we are on this subject I noticed that on my 66 Coupe the Headlamp Bezel Width is a little bit different from
each other. The P/S one is 1/8" (,125) less then the one on the D/S one. Of course the final outcome is that
the inner gap is bigger on the P/S 1/4"(.250) compared to the gaps on the D/S. Specs call for up to .18 gap. I got
to believe my bezels are original to the car. Has anybody noticed this difference on their C2's?? Thanks in advance

    Larry,
Are you saying that your actual headlamp bezels are a different width OR the headlamp bezel opening is different side to side?

Leif>Headlamp bezel openings are the same; but the bezels themselves are different. Not much but different. Yours?? Larry

        Larry,
I've never measured them but I will when I get home.

P.S. OK, I'm home. Right side bezel is 13 7/8" measured across the top of the bezel where it meets the bucket. Left side bezel is 13 15/16". Most likely attributable to body work/paint work over the last 53 years.

Leif: I assume your Bezel Openings are the same; so that being said are you gaps slightly smaller on your Left Side compared to
          your Right Side?? Larry

            Re: C2 Headlamp Bezel Width

Thought I would bring this up once more. Upon closer inspection I found that the P/S Bezel is slightly smaller then the D/S and that
the Bucket Width Openings are a "hair" wider on the P/S than the D/S. When you add all this up you have the gaps that are wider
on the P/S and D/S. We are talking small amounts but it is noticeable. Talking to previous owners and doing some inspection there
is no sign the car was ever in an accident. The gaps on both sides closer to the windshield have the small radius curve like they
supposed to. Question>Since we are talking about a 54 year car is it possible the the dimensions have change ever so small? Has
anybody else notice this. We have to assume that when it left St.Louis the gaps where in tolerance. Comments Please>Larry

              Re: C2 Headlamp Bezel Width

I'm not sure how the surround headlight bucket gaps would grow or shrink from the original, factory dimensions - others may know differently.

Thanks Frank for the comments. That being said lets just assume there never bodywork done to the car. IS IS POSSIBLE/PROBABLE THE
DIMENSIONS HAVE CHANGED IN THE 54 YEARS?? EVER SO SLIGHTLY??? Larry P.S. I know my car like many others when new was
used as an everyday day in ILLINOIS. That means the temperature variance was from 105 degrees to -15 degrees every year.
