Thank you everyone for the pictures and info. Blue painters tape will high light my nassau blue paint.

Not blue, but BLACK might be appropriate.....

Rich Y's very original 63 convertible when it was here on my lift. Very interesting tape I've never seen before. It's a "2-ply" black over tan which separated over the years.

I know that car; if you see something on there, its most prob original...
I've used it to confirm several points of originality on my own 63.
The wheels and IIRC convertible top were replaced...it has the original lacquer paint which has held up quite well.

Not sure how you would replicate that tape on rubber cushions and still be able to get the piece in the cavity with the body on the car...
It wasn't worth it to me to try...

Might be able to use some rubber cement and just tape sharply cut pieces to the edges of the cushions on both sides.

Wayne, The body on my 63 coupe has never been off the frame. As I understand the WB is a good headmark. Your bumper bolts are fine.

From under the head to the tip is 2 3/8". I will take some pictures for you.

Pictures of the center cushion bolt. Bolt and lock washer is cad/zinc. The flat washers are black Phosphate.
