C1 window regulator repair

Need to replace gear plate on 60 window regulator. Remove spring and rivet. Spring holder stud is crimped over so is correct procedure to grind off then weld stud back to plate.

IIRC I got the how to tips from Joe Calcagno of the Southern California Chapter.
